Pre-Start Inspection Checklist



Truck Details

Please select the Truck, and any trailer that are part of your vehicle combitination. 


Vehicle Inspections & Checks

1. Inspect: Are oil and coolant levels ok?
2. Inspect: Is there sufficient spare oil & coolant in each bottle?
3. Inspect: Are mirrors clean and in good working condition?
4. Inspect: Is the windscreen clean and in good working condition?
5. Inspect: Are windows clean and in good working condition?
6. Are the engine, driveline and exhaust free from visible and audible leaks?
7. Check: Is the dash clear of any warning lights?
8. Test: Is the reverse alarm operational?
9. Test & Inspect: Are brakes operational? No audible leaks?
10. Test & Inspect: Are turntable jaws properly engaged? No kingpin movement?
11. Inspect: Are the air connections in good condition? No audible leaks?
12. Inspect: Are the electrical connection leads in good condition?
13. Inspect: Are tyres roadworthy? Are they properly inflated?
14. Inspect: Are wheel nuts tight? Are the hubs free from visible leaks?
15. Inspect: Is the body and structure free of damage?
16. Test & Inspect: Are all lights, indicators and reflectors working?
17. Test & Inspect: Is the flashing beacon light working?

Dangerous Goods Inspections & Checks

18. Check: Do you have the correct PPE equipment for the task?
19. Check: Is the eye wash bottle full, and in date?
20. Check: Is the first aid kit sealed and in an easy to find location?
21. Test: Is the door alarm operational? (Terminal entry Vehicles only)
22. Check: Do you have the required route plan/permit? (If required)
23. Inspect: Are all fire extinguishers in date and ready for use?
24. Check: Do you have enough clean rags? Is the bucket clean and in good condition?
25. Inspect: Are all hatches and vents closed and sealed?
26. Check: Is the spill kit sealed and in an easy to find location?
28. Test: Is the drive away protection bar / brake interlock system operational?
29. Test: Is the fall protection operational?

Aviation Inspections & Checks

30. Check: Do you have enough SWD capsules and syringes? Are the capsules in date
31. Check: Do you have your driver kit bag? Does it contain all required items?
32. Check: Do you have copies of spare paperwork?
33. Check: Is the slops tank empty and free of contamination?
34. Inspect: Are the delivery hose/nozzle, bonding lead, hoses etc. secured?
35, Inspect: Is the ALJAC sample unit glass clean and the unit free of contamination

Fault Reporting

If any of the above checks are not fit for use, unroadworthy or in need of repair, a SAFE Report must be generated


Declaration

I declare I am fit for work, free of drugs and alcohol, have had adequate rest breaks, and am not suffering from the effects of fatigue. I declare that i have received sufficient training to complete my tasks and i undertake to abide by all TechFuel policies and procedure. I declare that i have completed a pre-start inspections, and have determined the vehicle safe to use to the limit of my abilities and knowledge. I will contact my supervisor if unsure on any part pertaining to this declaration.
